SME Bank Introduction

The Small and Medium Enterprises Bank (SME Bank) is a government-owned development fund regulated by the National Development Fund. It was established by the Council of Ministers’ Decision No. (376) on 16/02/2021, and its charter was issued by Royal Decree No. (M/46) on 02/11/2022.
The bank aims to increase the financing provided to the small and medium enterprises sector, bridge the financing gap, and enhance the role of financial institutions in funding the SME sector. This is achieved by empowering these institutions and integrating with them to support this vital sector, thereby increasing the financing provided to SMEs and maximizing the economic and social impact.
The SME Bank focuses on delivering all its products and services digitally through the Funding Gate, enabling access to services across all promising regions. It also emphasizes adopting global best practices in collaboration with international and local partners to build a portfolio of products suitable for every segment within the SME sector.
