What is online shopping service?

Online shopping is a service that Arab national bank provides to enable bank customers to shop for products or services  online thru the internet (websites of EStores) in a totally safe and secure manner using their ANB Mada Debit Card or credit cards.

Does the bank charge any fee to enable the online shopping service on ANB Mada Debit Cards?

No. The bank does not charge any fees to enable online shopping service on ANB Mada Debit Cards.

Is there any difference between credit cards and ANB Mada Debit Card?

There is no difference for online shopping purposes. The customer can use either..

What is the daily online purchase (online shopping) limit?

The top daily limit is the maximum amount the customer can spend in one day on online purchases. The customer can increase the Ecommerce  purchasing daily limit as desired provided the limit does not exceed the POS daily purchases limit

What is the daily online shopping default limit?

Daily Ecommerce purchase limit based on individual customer programs:

Riyadah, Joman, Ahlan, Joud+ 5,000 SAR
Wafer, Joud 5,000 SAR

 

Is there a possibility to adjust the daily online purchase (online shopping) limit for ANB Mada debit card?

Arab national bank supports a feature for control of the daily limit of online purchases, either by reducing the limit to SAR 0, or increasing it. This feature can be requested through Al Arabi IVR Service by calling 920005555 or visiting any of ANB branches.

Is the daily purchase limit for online shopping separate from the Daily POS purchase limit?

No. The daily limit for online shopping and POS purchases is shared, but the customer is given the advantage of determining the daily limit for each service provided that the online purchase limit does not exceed the POS purchase limit.

  • Example 1: in case the daily POS purchase limit was 60,000 SAR, the customer can allocate 20,000 SAR for online daily purchases. If the customer uses the 20,000 SAR allocated for online purchases, the remaining 40,000 SAR will be the daily POS purchase limit. If the customer doesn’t use the 20,000 SAR allocated for online purchases, then he can use the total purchase limit of 60,000 SAR on POS.

 

  • Example 2: in case the daily POS purchase limit is 20,000 SAR, the customer can allocate 5,000 SAR for online daily purchases. If the customer uses the 5,000 SAR allocated for online purchases, the remaining 15,000 SAR will be the daily POS purchase limit. If the customer doesn’t use the 5,000 SAR allocated for online purchases he can use the total purchase limit of 20,000 SAR on POS.

 

  • Example 3: in case the daily POS purchase limit was 40,000 SAR, and the customer allocated 5,000 SAR for online daily purchases, the customer can’t perform online shopping transactions exceeding in value the 5,000 SAR.

 

  • Example 4: in case the daily POS purchase limit was 60,000 SAR, and the customer allocated 60,000 SAR for online daily purchases and used the 60,000 SR limit in full on online shopping transactions, then the customer cannot perform any POS purchase transactions considering that he has already used the full limit, and vice versa.
     
Can the online shopping service be enabled only during the purchase transaction time?

Yes. Arab national bank allows enablement of the service before the time a purchase transaction is made only, and disablement of the service after completion of the online shopping transaction thru the Phone Banking IVR Service only . The customer can adjust the daily spending limit or the online shopping daily purchase limit through the Phone Banking IVR Service or ANB branches.
Note: If the customer isn’t registered for Phone Banking Service, he/she can register directly by dialing 920005555 and following the IVR instructions in order to take advantage of many features and services, and to carry out banking transactions in a convenient, secure and flexible manner.
 

Is using ANB Mada Debit Card for online shopping safe?

Yes. Arab national bank provides full security as detailed below:

  • The customer can’t complete the transaction without entering the OTP (One time password) sent to his/her mobile. The verification protocol is supported by VISA and is called VBV (Verified by (VISA)  authenticated by Visa . 
  • To proceed with the purchase, the customer must enter the OTP sent to his / her mobile when purchasing or paying through VBV supported websites  who display the Verified By Visa logo on their payment page.
Where can the Online shopping service be used?

Arab national bank allows you to benefit from the service at all online websites that supports  VBV (Verified By Visa), both local and international.  The customer can’t purchase from websites that doesn’t support this feature like Amazon and Apple.

Which currency should the customer use in case of purchase from a non-local website?

We always advise the customer to select the same currency of the merchant’s country he/she is making  a purchase from online i.e. the Saudi currency should not be selected at the time of payment because this would result in additional forex charges for currency conversion.

What should the customer do if he/she didn’t receive the OTP (one time password) on his/her mobile?

There are plenty of reasons behind the delay in receiving the OTP. In case of any delay in receiving the OTP we advise the customer to check the data entered and then try again after a short period of time. If the problem persists the customer should call ANB Phone Banking. 

What should the customer do if he/she entered the wrong OTP 3 times?

The system will automatically cancel the online purchase so the customer must perform the purchase transaction once again.

Are there any offers for ANB cards to take advantage of?

Yes, there are special offers for ANB Mada Debit Cards and other for ANB Credit Cards.

Is it necessary to issue a new card to benefit from the online purchase service?

No, The service is available in all ANB Debit Cards, and if the service is disabled the customer can enable it through Al Arabi IVR Service by calling 920005555

Can the online shopping service be cancelled after completing the purchase?

Yes, the service can be cancelled after completing the purchase only through Phone Banking IVR Services available by dialing 920005555. Alternatively, the customer can decrease the daily online purchase limit to 0 SAR instead of cancellation, and by doing so no online purchases can be made because the limit is 0 SAR. The daily online purchase limit can be determined through the Phone Banking IVR Service or by visiting ANB branches.
